A 14-year-old student committed suicide at his house in Vinayaka Nagar, Hanumanthanagar, on Monday.

According to the police, Siddharth Kashyap, a ninth standard student studying at a private school in Girinagar, was found hanging in his bedroom.

He returned home from school on Monday evening and told his grandmother that he would go to his room to do his homework. When his parents returned home from work, they went to Kashyap’s room and found the door locked from inside.

When Siddharth did not open the door after repeated knocks, they broke open the door only to find their son hanging from the ceiling fan. He was upset as he had fared badly in the exams, said his parents, to the police, who visited the house. A case has been registered at the Hanumanthanagar police station.
