JOIN US A 25-year-old man was murdered in full public view near the APMC Complex in Sathanur in Kanakapura on Friday. The deceased, Chandu alias Ambode, was returning home on a two-wheeler when a group of people in a car waylaid him, chased him and hacked him to death with lethal weapons.
The victim died on the spot. Though the gruesome incident happened in full public view, the identity of the assailants is yet to be ascertained by the police. Several people were witness to the murder as it happened near the market area, the police said.
According to police, Chandu was involved in an attempt to murder case in Ramanagaram. He was arrested and was sent to jail. Recently, he came out on bail. This is the first time in Kanakapura that choppers and machetes were used to murder a person in public in Ramanagaram, the police added.
The police shifted Chandu's body to a government hospital for post-mortem, where hundreds of people had gathered. A case of murder has been registered at the Sathanur police station.
