Last Updated 18 March 2017, 20:06 IST

Yogi Adityanath, who would be sworn-in as the new chief minister of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, said on Saturday that development and good governance would be his priority.

In an informal chat with reporters after meeting Governor Ram Naik and staking claim to form the next government, Adityanath said that he would be following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ (development and cooperation of all). “I have a challenge to take the state on the path of development,” he said, adding that the other members of his Cabinet would be decided shortly.

UP, U’khand CMs from Garhwal

Though Trivendra Singh Rawat and Yogi Adityanath are natives of the same region, the latter shifted to Gorakhpur after becoming an ascetic.
