Realty firm fixes its boards on divider, BBMP says not aware

Realty firm Vaswani Group has put up its boards with the BBMP logo on a median on MG Road from the Gandhi statue and Anil Kumble Circle. However, Palike officials, including the commissioner, are unaware of the new boards.

Around 25 such boards have come up, some protruding dangerously on to the road. When contacted, BBMP commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad said he has no information about any such signboard coming up on MG Road. He opined that Vaswani Group might have taken up beautification of the Anil Kumble Circle or the Kasturba Road Junction. “I have to check with my subordinates because I am not aware of any such things coming up on MG Road.

The assistant revenue officers (advertisements) of the BBMP East Zone and the BBMP head office were not aware of  such boards on MG Road. When contacted, Kavita, a Vaswani Group executive said they have permission to put up the boards on the road divider. “BBMP gave us permission to put up the boards. That is why we have also included the BBMP logo on the board along with that of Vaswani Group,” said Kavita.
