Saying 'we care', with cake art and message of love
Women cake artists have come under one platform to support the 'Supporticon campaign' that aims at supporting children and adults with special needs and disabilities. As a part of this campaign, these artists from the city and across the country, have baked their own versions of a Supporticon theme cakes with an awareness message of understanding, loving, caring, respecting and accepting people with special needs in society.

The bakers then visited special needs persons and schools to gift an artistic cake as a symbol of support. The cake artists have been uploading the cakes on their Facebook page #baketosupport. So far, 30 professional cake  artists have taken part in this campaign.

"The movement was launched recently and now, small home bakers, amateur bakers and kids are also baking simple cakes and reaching special needs children and gifting it to them. Artists from Dubai, Mumbai and across the globe besides those from India, are taking part in the campaign. Mary Ann George, a cake artist, has been collaborating with cake artists for the campaign," said Geetha V M, from Supporticon team and a mother of a special child. The highlight of the campaign is that all the bakers are women. For details, visit  https://www.facebook.com/supporticon/.
