JOIN US A former paramilitary man was arrested for murdering his mother-in-law in Bidadi on Thursday over a domestic dispute.
Nagaraj, a resident of Bidadi, murdered Chikkathimmamma (65), a resident of Kempanakuppe village near Bidadi, said the police.
According to the police, Nagaraj had joined a security agency after his retirement from the paramilitary force. He married Mangala, Chikkathimmamma’s daughter, about 25 years ago. The couple would fight often due to lack of compatability.
The police had arrested Nagaraj based on Mangala’s complaint and sent him to prison about a year ago. Nagaraj struck a compromise with his wife after his release and they started living together. After a few months, they started fighting again. Mangala deserted him and joined her mother, said the police.
Nagaraj barged into Chikkathimmamma’s house on Thursday and asked her to send Mangala to his house. Chikkathimmamma, however, ignored him. An irked Nagaraj took a machete and attacked her. She died on the spot due to massive injuries.
