<p>A truck driver who lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a garage in Basaveshwaranagar on Wednesday night was among two people killed in the accident.<br /><br />The deceased have been identified as Vinay (36) the truck driver and his brother-in-law Nataraj (46), the owner of the truck. The two were residents of Devanahalli.<br /><br />According to the police, the duo was transporting a load of quarry waste to a construction site in Basaveshwaranagar. When the truck reached Veerabhadreshwara theatre in Basaveshwaranagar, Vinay suddenly lost control over the vehicle and ploughed into a garage.<br /><br />Since the garage was closed for the day, there was nobody inside it, the police said. Passersby alerted the police who rushed to the spot. A crane was called in to extricate the truck stuck under the debris. The police then recovered the bodies.<br /><br />The Vijayanagar traffic police have taken up a case and are investigating. The police suspect brake failure as the cause for the accident but are awaiting the technical experts' reports for confirmation.</p>
