JD(S) to constitute booth-level panels in each Assembly seat

 The JD(S) core committee on Thursday decided to constitute booth-level committees in each of the 224 constituencies in the state. A state-level committee under the chairmanship of Chikkanayakanahalli MLA Suresh Babu has been formed to monitor the constitution of these booth-level panels.

Briefing reporters, JD(S) MLC Ramesh Babu said that state-level conventions of OBCs, SCs/STs and minorities will be held in the next three months. A campaign committee for next year’s Assembly elections will be announced soon. The achievements of H D Kumaraswamy’s government will be given wide publicity. Social media will be used extensively.

The JD(S) expanded its core committee to include former MLC H C Neeravari and party general secretary V Naraya­naswamy in the panel. Earlier, Neeravari, in the presence of party national president H D Deve Gowda, attended an event where he stated that he will re-enter active politics. Neeravari belongs to the Uppara community.

Gowda said Uppara community are a deciding factor in 33 Assembly constituencies in state. Gowda said if Kumaraswamy is given a chance to become chief minister, the party will waive off all pending farm loans within a day of coming to power.
