<p>Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Saturday said Byatarayanapura tops in terms of segregating waste at source.<br /><br />Addressing people during ‘Janaspandana – Citizens for Change’, Byre Gowda quoted Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu as saying that Bengaluru is the only metropolitan city where maximum segregation of waste is happening.<br /><br />“In Bengaluru, our Assembly constituency stands on top. More than 50% of the waste generated here is segregated. We also top in producing raw material for organic compost from wet waste generated in our area,” said Byre Gowda. <br /><br />He urged his electorate to help BBMP in achieving 100% waste segregation in his Assembly constituency. <br /><br />“Segregated waste generates employment to many. Waste is wealth. Ragpickers earn from this. The compost generated from waste helps farmers grow produce organically,” the minister said.</p>
