Amid delay in the re-union of AIADMK warring factions in Tamil Nadu, the rebel leader and former chief minister O Panneerselvam on Tuesday said that the present situation looks "favourable" for merger talks.

"The current scenario looks favourble for talks between the groups", Panneerselvam said.

Recently, the both AIADMK group have formed committees to hold patch up talks for the merger of the two factions, but it seems to have hit a road block with both of them talking tough.

The latest demand laid by Panneerselvam's group was to remove jailed V K Sasikala's portraits and cutouts immediately from the party headquarters in the capital.

Panneerselvam faction's demand came few days after its senior leaders sought removal of Sasikala, her nephew T T V Dhinakaran and their family members from the AIADMK prior to reunion talks with the other faction led by chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

The second demand by the group was for a CBI probe into the death of former chief minister and J Jayalalithaa.

However,  the other AIADMK group, led by Palaniswami, accused Panneerselvam's camp for laying out several demands even before the merger talks.
