JEWEL TALK

Designs on ramp

Bridal collection from JKS Jewellers kick-started the fashion show. The models wore typical South Indian, Italian and modern jewellery. The bridal collection, which was part of the first sequence, saw models with  ornaments on their long braided hair. There were heavy chains and gold waist-belts too.

These models were dressed in silk and crepe saris. The next sequence showcased models in gowns, who wore gold jewellery which had an antique finish. The designs were very modern and coated with bright-coloured enamel like blue, maroon, red, etc.

It was a treat to the eyes. There were some good entertainment programmes too for the audience, one of which was a fusion of yakshagana, bharatanatyam and hip-hop. Sangeetha, a jewellery designer, said, “I am amazed by the lovely designs I saw. It is nice to have fashion shows like this as it gives an idea about the requirements of the audience. Also, when models display jewellery along with the right clothes, it makes people aware on how jewellery should be worn. I enjoyed the evening totally.”

The clothes’ part of the fashion show was handled by Ramesh Dembla and choreography was taken care by Rahul Dev Shetty. The best part of the fashion show was the last sequence, wherein the models walked the ramp in black dresses and Italian jewellery. The models had their hair tied up very neatly into a bun and the jewels were displayed clearly. Finger rings and amulets received equal attention. This sequence stole the limelight.

Top models like Jackie Shetty, Pashmina Barker and many more walked the ramp. Souparnika, one of the guests, says, “I enjoyed the evening a lot as I got to see various kinds of jewellery and the right kind of clothes to go with it. I had a great time.”
