Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday reviewed the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and states with Maoists’ presence following recent violent incidents.
Officials also briefed Singh about the situation on the Line of Control (LoC) where bodies of two Indian security personnel mutilated by Pakistan Army were found.
Sources said the meeting discussed the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir as well as the scenario in Maoist-affected states, particularly Chhattisgarh where Maoists killed 25 CRPF personnel last week.
Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, chiefs of intelligence agencies and security officials were present at the meeting.
Singh has already directed the security establishment to further strengthen the vigil on the international border with Pakistan as well.
On the Maoist front, Singh has already called a meeting of the states on May 8 to review the existing strategy and suggest changes.
