Located in Cooke Town, ‘Sunny Side Bistro’ is such a place. Set in a green space, it offers continental food of your choice.
From breakfast spread to the main course, the place has something for everyone. Nikhil David Prakash, the owner of the eatery, says that continental food is special to him.
“I love to travel across the world and enjoy the cuisines. That’s what inspired me to start this bistro,” he says. “Pastas and burgers have always interested me. It’s food that is close to my heart,” he says. Their ‘Full English Breakfast’ includes three eggs cooked to order, double portion of pork sausage and bacon rashers, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, bakes beans and toast or pancakes.
Nikhil says, “Our ‘Arrabbiata Pasta’ which also has Parmesan cheese in it, is a definite choice of many who like to indulge in creamy goodness. The ‘Summer Salad’, which is just right for the season includes fruits and vegetables like watermelon and cucumber. It has a nice sour taste to it because of the Feta cheese.” He claims that the steak here is the top choice of meat lovers.
“The sauce for the steak takes around five to six hours to prepare. This is a must-have. It’s a beef tenderloin with blanched vegetables,” he adds.
The burgers here have a hard baguette-like bun, which is a hard on the outside and fluffy inside. It is an acquired taste but is definitely worth a try. For those who want to enjoy a drink with their meal, a ‘Mango mint orange’ or an ‘Apple and Mango’ smoothie, would be a nice choice.
The ‘Toblerone Shake’ is an attraction here. Desserts like ‘Homemade brownies with icecream and chocolate sauce’ or the vegan sweet treat ‘Avocado mousse with blueberries and strawberries’, will be apt for those with a sweet tooth.
The eatery which is in a garden setup offers a nice break from the chaos of the city. “Our eatery is located in what is understood as old Bangalore and we have a mixed crowd,” he says.
