Varun Agarwal, Bengaluru’s very own first-generation entrepreneur and author, has reached yet another milestone. He is the author of ‘How I Braved Anu Aunty and Co-Founded A Million Dollar Company’ which has now been picked up Bollywood director and filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari to be made into a movie.

In a friendly chat with Tapan Menezes, the alumni of Bishop Cotton Boys' School,  who co-founded Alma Mater in 2009, shares his thoughts on the movie and more.

Your thoughts on your novel being made into a movie...
I am still overwhelmed with the fact that it’s being made into a movie. But I don’t want to jinx anything as it’s still in the scripting stage.

Who would you want to play your role as well as Anu aunty’s role?
I would love to see a young and dynamic actor playing my role. But I am sure Sri Devi would be a  perfect Anu aunty. Also I really hope they shoot the movie here in the city.

Since you are quite interested in movie making, would you share your ideas with the filmmaker?
It is Nitesh Tiwari’s movie and he has his own expertise in the field. I think I will just let the experts work their magic. But nonetheless, my passion for editing and making videos remains the same.

Can we expect a sequel?
Well yes, I am currently writing a sequel. Since it is an autobiography, I’m still figuring out what all to add into the novel — as something new always keeps coming up.

Do you want a role in the film?
No, I am pathetic at acting. I would rather sit back and enjoy the movie with some popcorn.

‘Don’t think, just do’ has always been your mantra. Has it actually paid off?
Honestly, I wrote the entire novel in a random manner.  I completed it in 10 days without thinking about anything else. And look at it now — it’s being made into a movie. So I feel that my mantra has paid off. The only thing that is important is to know when and where to apply it.
