Car hits tree, 2 killed

Two men from Bengaluru were killed and five sustained injuries when a car in which they were travelling hit a tree near Kooranakoppa village in the taluk in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Prashanth (28) and Adarsh (29), residents of Sunkadakatte, Bengaluru. It is said that Adarsh, who was at the wheel, died on the spot and Prashanth breathed his last at a hospital in Sagar. The injured, Ashok, Shankar Gowda, Prasanna Kumar, Dasegowda, Narayanaswamy have been admitted to McGann Hospital in Shivamogga.

The incident occurred when they were returning to Bengaluru after offering prayers at Sigandur temple.
