Modi-led Union govt has given scam-free governance: Minister

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar on Monday said Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre has provided corruption-free and transparent government in the past three years.

The minister was in the city to attend an event to reach the people the programmes launched and the achievements made in various spheres by the Union government.

Addressing media here, he said Narendra Modi has given corruption-free governance and has introduced several schemes for the upliftment of the poor and the deprived classes.

Highlighting various welfare programmes of the Centre, Gurjar said, “After assuming office, Modi has introduced various welfare programmes for the poor. ‘Clean India Campaign’ (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) has contributed towards the growth of the country. A few states, including Kerala and Sikkim, have become open defecation-free.”

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased, inflation rate has declined and the foreign investment inflow into the country has increased significantly, he added.

Gurjar said, to rid the country of its VIP culture, Modi banned the use of red beacon lights atop vehicles. He had put an end to real estate mafia, which was rampant during the tenure of previous government. The minister also briefed the reporters on the various Central government schemes and their progress.

He denied to reply to a question on Supreme Court’s reservation in promotions for SC/ST, and said it will be discussed in the cabinet. Gurjar also said that there is no controversy over Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Regulation of Livestock Market) Rules, 2017.

The minister addressed the party workers and also had an interaction with the industrialists and young entrepreneurs. Gurjar will take part in a cleanliness drive in Urs Colony on Tuesday and will also address advocates on Mysuru District Court premises later in the day.

MP Pratap Simha said, as per the directions of the PM, Gurjar visited the city to popularise the achievements of the Centre. Simha said, “All the ministers and MPs have been asked to tour the districts across the nation to take the programmes of the Central government to the people.”
