The whiff of nostalgia

A new addition to the numerous eateries in Koramangala is ‘The Local - Burger Bar’. Divided into two floors — ‘The Burger Bar’ as well as the ‘The Terrace Drinkery’ —  the place has quite a lot to offer to food lovers.

The peaceful and serene setup gives the terrace a homely look which makes you want to go back to the place. The neat seating adds to the charm.

The retro music and cool breeze bring about the nostalgic feeling of old Bengaluru. In the ‘tandoori’ section, the ‘Stuffed mushroom’ is soft and juicy while the spices are just right. If you’d like something spicier, the chunky ‘Chicken tikka’ is a good choice. Big flavourful chunks of succulent chicken cooked over the ‘tandoor’ please your palate.   

The place serves some good burgers that are really satisfying. The chicken and beef burgers are nice and juicy. However, it’s the ‘Smoked lamb burger’ that tops it all. With a soft lamb minced patty and a layer of fluffy egg and cheese in between fresh burger buns, it’s as good as it gets!

The ‘Chilli pork’ and ‘nachos’ are favourites here and it’s wonderful to snack on these munchies while sipping the delicious cocktails and mocktails on offer. The ‘Barman’s Special’ is a non-alcoholic drink with a twist to it. They claim to serve it with a different flavour each time someone orders it and don’t repeat the blend of juices. 

The strawberry and banana- based mocktails are also worth-trying. 

The pizzas at the eatery are large and filling. The thin crust ones are crunchy and cheesy. The ‘Farmhouse’ pizza, topped with broccoli, zucchini and peppers, is both a visual and gastronomic treat.

Assistant manager Ajay Antony says,” The place always sees a mixed crowd and it’s wonderful to watch them enjoy our food.” 

The staff is well-trained and courteous. The food and the ambience complement each other and it’s certainly worth-visiting.
