Bengaluru City Police showcases its social media mastery yet again

Last Updated 12 June 2017, 10:56 IST

The Bengaluru City Police has used many techniques to teach people the importance of following road safety rules, but when many of those failed, they chose to take the path less followed: using social media, particularly memes based on famous TV shows as the foundation of their next-gen awareness programme.

The program earned them much praise and recognition over time, with people remarking how well the Police department is able to explain road rules through comic means.

Now, the Bengaluru City Police have gone a step further and made the citizens part of their awareness campaign with their latest tweet.

The Police used a scene from the Netflix series 'Stranger Things' to create a puzzle, and encouraged people to try and figure out what it says. Coupled with a witty, yet strong message, the puzzle was well-received by the twitterati and Facebook crowd, who hailed this as yet another strong punch by the Police's social media team.

The success of Bangalore City Police has led the social media departments of other cities' police to make use of social media and memes to help make their job easier. Recently, the Nagpur police decided to use the AIB-Irrfan Khan teamup video to help create awareness about child begging in the city.
