BJP member Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri said in the Assembly on Wednesday that government school students have not received textbooks yet due to a shortage. But Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait replied there is no shortage of the books.
Kageri said hardly 50% of the total requirement for textbooks has reached the BEO office in Uttara Kannada district. Similar is the situation in other districts.
Sait said availability of textbooks is 90%. In U-K, the supply is 100%, he claimed.
