Planning to go out for dinner with your friends but can’t decide the place?

Here’s a place that’s sure to make your non-vegetarian friends ask for more helpings of sumptuous vegetarian dishes. ‘Eshanya’ in Jayanagar offers a casual dining experience with a variety of North Indian and Chinese delights.

The restaurant has a sophisticated yet relaxed ambience, also perfect for a date or a slightly formal occasion. The comfortable seating coupled with the friendly staff and prompt service adds to the entire experience. The food, of course, is the highlight.

It’s recommended to not waste your time mulling over the choice of beverages, mocktails and Indian drinks. Go straight to the food menu and begin with the starters. If you’d like to begin your meal with a soup, pick one from the wide variety including ‘shorba’ and ‘Chinese soups’.

They have a range of mouthwatering ‘kebabs’ including the ‘Veg seekh kebab’ and ‘Hara bhara kebab’, so ordering a ‘Sizzling kebab platter’ will work best for your group. Then there are items like ‘Soya hara pyaaz seekh’, ‘Lahori subzi seekh’ and ‘Bhutte palak seekh’ along with several variations of ‘paneer tikka’ to build your appetite. In the Chinese section, the ‘Vegetable spring roll’ is one of the much sought-after starters. The list, including the main course, is extensive comprising all the usual Chinese favourites and one can dig into whatever they please.

In the North Indian section, the ‘Paneer butter masala’ takes the limelight with its finger-licking taste and smooth texture. ‘Amritsari masala paneer’, ‘Paneer tikka lababdar’ and ‘Paneer lazeez’ are some of the other options that you can go for.

If you’re looking at vegetable-based preparations, you might want to try out the ‘Navratan korma’, ‘Subzi handi dewani’ or ‘Chilli milli subzi’, with the perfectly done ‘kulchas’.

The choice of curries and gravies is sure to please even the most picky person in your group. For those fond of ‘dals’, there is the rich ‘Dal makhni’.

Even when it comes to the bread basket, there are several unusual yet unique names — ‘Hari mirch ki roti’, ‘Methi kulcha’, ‘Peshawari kulcha’ and more. The ‘biryani’ lovers can take their pick from ‘Subzi dum biryani’, ‘Eshanya special biryani’, ‘Subzi tawa biryani’ and ‘Paneer mutter biryani’.

If you’re visiting for lunch on a weekday, the ‘North Indian thali’ is the simplest and best option.

For desserts, there are Indian sweetmeats like ‘gulab jamun’, ‘kulfi’ and ‘rabdi’ as well as ice creams and sundaes.

However, the main course might not leave enough room for that.

That’s alright since you’re not missing out on much. The restaurant is open for lunch from 12 pm to 3 pm and for dinner from 7 pm to 10 pm. ‘Eshanya’ is located at No 33, 26th Main, 36th Cross, 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar.
