Construction worker killed as BMTC bus hits two-wheeler

A man was killed, while his friend sustained injuries in a collision between a BMTC bus and a two-wheeler on Friday.

The deceased is Arogya Raj (20), a resident of Lakshmipura in Muneshwara Block, while Peter (32), who was injured, is being treated at a private hospital.

The accident occurred on Hesaraghatta Main Road when the victims, both construction workers, were returning home on Peter’s bike with Arogya Raj riding pillion.

The duo fell down and sustained severe head injuries after the BMTC bus collided with the bike near Medi Agrahara. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital where Arogya Raj was declared dead on arrival.
The police detained the bus driver and seized the bus.

Man hit by train

In another accident, a 30-year-old man was killed on the spot after he was hit by a train between KSR railway station and Nayandahalli.  The deceased has been identified as Balaji, a resident of Vijayanagar. He  was a cab driver.

 The incident came to light after a few local residents noticed the body near tracks and informed the police on Friday morning. It is not known whether it is a case of an accident or suicide.
The police are questioning members of Balaji’s family to ascertain the truth.
