A traffic policeman has been rewarded for facilitating the movement of an ambulance that was stuck in the traffic on Saturday during the passage of President Pranab Mukherjee’s convoy.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood appreciated the work of M L Nijalingappa, traffic SI attached to Halasuru station, and announced the reward. Around 4.30 pm, an ambulance from Hosmat Hospital got stuck in the traffic at Trinity Circle, when all vehicles were stopped by placing barricades to facilitate the movement of the convoy of the President on his way from HAL Airport and Raj Bhavan.

Upon receiving a message, Nijalingappa got the barricades removed and gave way to the ambulance.
