Santosh Kumar, a resident of Dodda Nagamangala near Parappana Agrahara and a student of B E (Computer Science) 4th Semester, drowned himself in a pond on Wednesday.

Kumar had left home on Wednesday morning to see his friends, but did not return. While his family was frantically searching for him, his younger brother Vasanth Kumar came to know about the victim’s drowning.

Kumar, a student of BTL Institute of Technology, Bommasandra, had failed in many papers and was upset over this. Things apparently became even more difficult for him when he failed in the third semester exams held recently, police added.

On March 25 last, Manisha, a 17-year-old student of 10th Class, had hanged herself to death due to failing in Biology paper. One of the lines in her death note read, “Dad, Bio isn't really my subject…”

Two killed

Two persons were killed and six others were injured after their car first hit a road divider, then swerved to ram into a garage before turning turtle on Bangalore-Mysore Road in Ramanagara on Thursday. They were on their way to Bangalore.

While Anand (35), a flower decorator from Hoskote taluk, died on the spot, his fellow commuter Narayan Gowda, also from Hoskote taluk, died on way to the hospital, police said.
Munikrishna, Priya, Manjanna, Chandra, Mohan, and Shabna, who were also in the car, sustained injuries and were admitted to various hospitals. Ramnanagar traffic police have registered a case.
