BBMP commissioner told to probe MLCs' 'fake bills'

 The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka on Friday directed Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike commissioner N Manjunath Prasad to submit a report on a complaint that eight MLCs claimed lakhs of rupees as travel allowance by submitting fake bills.

“I have directed the BBMP commissioner to look into the issue and submit a report. We will take appropriate action based on the report,” Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha said.

The BBMP commissioner is also the district electoral officer. BJP leader in the BBMP council Padmanabha Reddy had recently complained to the CEO on the issue and urged him to disqualify the MLCs.

Allum Veerabhadrappa, Raghu Achar, N S Boseraju, S Ravi, R B Thimmapura (all Congress), C R Manohar, Appaji Gowda (both JD-S) and M D Lakshminarayana (Independent) are the MLCs.
