Mustafa Dossa laid to rest

The mortal remains of notorious smuggler Mustafa Dossa alias Mustafa Majnu, a convict in the 12 March 1993 serial blasts, was laid to rest on Thursday at Bada Qabrastan located between the Charni Road and Marine Lines station in south Mumbai.

Dossa, 61, died following a massive heart attack at the jail ward of the Sir JJ Hospital, at 14.30 hrs on Wednesday, where he was admitted following uncontrolled diabetes, hyper-tension and fever. On  Tuesday, the CBI had sought the death penalty for him.

The post-mortem was conducted and the family was handed over the body around 2200 hrs to the family. It was taken to the family mansion, Aqdas Apartments in Agripada and then to the Bada Kabrastan around 0130 hrs on Thursday, where he was laid to rest next to his father's grave.

Around 200 people took part in the funeral, mostly comprising family members, friends. One son based in Dubai, Shahnawaz also arrived for the last rites. Tight security arrangements were in place at the residence of the Dossas and the graveyard.

Dossa is survived by two wives, three sons and two daughters.

The Dossas are businessmen hailing from Gujarat and reportedly owns several shops in Mumbai and the Gulf.

His elder brother, Mohammed Dosa, who was the chief landing agent of Karachi-based don and global terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim, is still absconding. Dossa had organised the landing of RDX, AK-56 rifles and grenades in Raigad district besides taking part in the conspiracy meeting in Dubai.
