He is out of danger and the police will take the next course of action against him after he is  discharged.

Several cases have been registered against him for various crimes including extortion, group clash, attempts to murder and murders.

Nine cases were registered against him by the Ashoknagar police and are pending in Court. Warrants have been issued in three cases and proclamation and raid orders in four cases. The court has issued warrants in two cases registered with Viveknagar police.

Two cases - one at Basavanagudi and the other at Banaswadi police stations have been registered, said the police.On a tip off, the Ashoknagar police spotted Syed near Shalimar Hotel in Neelasandra Bazar Street in Shivajinagar. On seeing the police, he tried to escape in his friend’s bike.

He did not obey the order to surrender and attacked sub inspector H K Mahananda who opened two rounds of fire, one in air and the other at his thigh and injured him .  Later, he was shifted to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.

Chain snatching cases

Three chain-snatching cases were reported in different parts of the City on Wednesday.
Two motorcycle borne miscreants played havoc, targeting women in Tilak Nagar, Basaweshwarnagar and Rajajinagar area. Around 1.30 pm at Jayanagar 9th Block, when Ramya was heading home  some unidentified culprits took away her mangalsutra valued at around Rs 60,000.

In a similar fashion, Nagarathana, a Manjunathnagar resident, was relieved of her gold chain worth about Rs 65,000 at Basaweshwarnagar.

Leelavathi, a housewife has complained to Basavanagudi police stating, when she was walking on HB Samaja Road, two youths on a bike snatched her gold chain valued around Rs 45,000.

CCB sleuths nab two

The CCB sleuths, on a tip off, arrested two persons for allegedly selling fake electronic gadgets and recovered 150 DVDs, MP3 players, laptop, and memory chips worth of Rs 50,000  in Rajgopalnagar.The accused are H M Dayananda alias Daya (28) and Shammir (23), both residents of Chamundipura, Laggere.

Person kills self

A 39-year-old man committed suicide by consuming poison  on Tuesday night.Rajajinagar police said Raj Shankar, a resident of 4th Block was suffering from depression.

Worker killed

A daily wage worker died in a freak accident after a truck ran over him while in reverse gear in  Kalasipalya new extension on Tuesday night. Shankar (35) was sleeping when the accident occurred.
