Three hotels raided

The police were tipped off about three hotels carrying business beyond deadline in Koramangala. The police rushed to the spot and found several cars and other vehicles parked outside hotel Paramount on Koramangala 5th Block. There were nearly 100 customers when the police entered inside. The hotel staff had switched off lights and were carrying out business. The police arrested the hotel manager Abdul Rehman, said DCP (South East) B N S Reddy.

Two other hotels, Empire on Edaneerumutt Road in 5th Block and Imperial on Koramangala Club Road in 6th Block, were also raided. There were nearly 100 customers each in both the hotels. The managers Basheer of Hotel Empire and Abdul Rehman bin Abdulla of the Hotel Imperial have been arrested.The police have recommended for cancellation of licenses for violation of license conditions, added Reddy.

Cash stolen

»Some unidentified people picked a purse containing Rs 50,000 from a middle-aged man in a BMTC bus on Tuesday.

Shivalingaiah, from Doddaballapur had come to the City to purchase dresses for his daughter's marriage. He had boarded  the BMTC bus to go to RMC Yard.

House burgled

»Thieves struck at a house in Mahadevapura recently and fled with valuables worth Rs 4 lakh.

According to the police, the theft came to light when house owner, Chakravarthi, a resident of Doddanekkundi returned home on Tuesday morning. He had forgotten to lock the rear door  before leaving Bangalore some three days ago. The thieves gained entry into the house through the rear door and fled with jewellery and 21 expensive imported watches, added the police.
