Apollo Hospitals group executive chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy on Tuesday said he is ready to face any probe over the treatment of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

Jayalalithaa died on December 5 having been admitted to the hospital on September 22 due to fever and dehydration. The mystery shrouding her death has prompted calls for an inquiry into the treatment and hospitalisation procedures.

“We are ready (for the probe),” Reddy said. “We have all the data and there was no interference in the treatment given to her (Jaya).”

Stating that the doctors had given extra care for Jayalalithaa, Reddy said: “She was improving. Unfortunately, she had a major heart attack and never responded.”

Several leaders, including AIADMK rebel leader O Panneerselvam, have been demanding an inquiry over the medical procedures and the manner of her death.
