Last Updated 18 July 2017, 20:30 IST
BJP MPs from Karnataka staged a dharna in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Parliament complex here on Tuesday, seeking the Centre's intervention to protect honest officials in the state.

Demanding the reversing of the transfer of IPS officer D Roopa, the MPs said that there is no proper working atmosphere in Karnataka for honest officials.

The MPs lead by BJP state president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa also demanded a ban on Popular Front of India and Karnataka Democratic Front stating that these organisations have a role in the killing of RSS worker Sharth Madiwala in Dakshina Kannada district and flaring up of communal incidents in Karnataka.

Later, the BJP leaders met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and submitted a memorandum.

MPs Shobha Karandlaje, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Pralhad Joshi, Karadi Sanganna and others were present.
