Dilip Kumar stable

Thespian Dilip Kumar is in the intensive care unit of the Lilavati Hospital, where he was admitted earlier this week because of dehydration. As reports came in that the 94-year-old actor is being treated for kidney-related ailments there was the cause of concern from the film fraternity and the millions of fans of the method actor. The social media is flooded with messages of commoners wishing him a speedy recovery.

"We have to pray he recovers soon. He should be well Inshallah! God willing. The doctors are treating him," his wife, Saira Bano, was quoted saying. The Lilavati Hospital said that the actor was stable and his condition is being monitored.

Of late, Dilip Kumar has been admitted to the hospital several times. In 2016, he was hospitalised twice. He even celebrated his 94th birthday on December 11 last year in the hospital.

He had acted in several landmark and superhit movies including Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Naya Daur, Shakti and Madhumati among others. His last film was Qila in 1998. He was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015 and had been a former Rajya Sabha member.
