A mix of emotions

Sharan feels his latest release ‘Raj Vishnu’ is special in a lot of ways. He points out that the subject is unique and perfectly suits the present-day situations.

He says that the narration of the script is humourous and offers plenty of light moments.
Talking about his role in the film, Sharan says that it is similar to what he played in his previous project, ‘Adyaksha’.

“Raj Vishnu is the name of a single person and not two different people. He is a carefree, unemployed but rich young man who doesn’t like to work. He wastes his father’s money by roaming around with his friends. While this is the lighter side of the film, there is a serious side to the story too,” says Sharan.

He points out that the story also explores the strong bond between Raj Vishnu and his grandfather (played by actor Srinivasa Murthy).

“Here, Raj Vishnu is close to his grandfather. Even though there is a two-generation gap between them, he takes care of his grandfather and spends more time with him than with anybody else. This is the first time that I am doing a project where the emotions of a grandson and grandfather are at play,” says Sharan.

The story also focuses on families who send their children abroad for higher studies.
They do this to ensure that their children get a good future, he says.

“But most of the time, the children choose to settle down abroad and only occasionally visit their parents after that. They are never present for any of the important family functions. This tends to widen the gap between parents and their children,” says Sharan.

About his co-star Vaibhavi Shandilya, Sharan says that Vaibhavi comes from a theatre background and is making her debut in Kannada with ‘Raj Vishnu’.

“ It is easy to work with theatre artistes because they are better prepared and well-versed with the art of filmmaking,” says Sharan.

“They are fast learners because in theatre one doesn’t really have the luxury of time. You have to change and switch emotions really fast,” he adds.

The film also has actor Chikkanna who plays Sharan’s best buddy. The actors says that the film will be loved by people of all age groups.

“People of all age groups will be able to relate to the script and there is something for everyone to take back home,” adds Sharan.
