<p class="bodytext">A court here on Saturday sentenced five persons to 20 years in jail for kidnapping and raping two sisters in 2014.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Additional sessions court judge Ram Kumar Singla handed down the sentence and imposed a fine of Rs one lakh each on the suspects.</p>.<p class="bodytext">They would undergo an additional two-year sentence if they do not pay the fine.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The two girls, from Dala village in the district, went for a morning walk on March 10, 2014, when five youths in a car kidnapped them and took them to an unknown place where they were gang-raped.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The accused - Parveen Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Lakhwinder Singh, Rinku and Rakesh Kumar, all residents of Gurdaspur - were arrested and a case under IPC sections 376, 363, 366 and 120 was registered against them.
