The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will issue Rs 200 denomination notes on Friday, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The new Rs 200 denomination notes in Mahatma Gandhi (new) series, will bear the signature of RBI Governor Dr Urjit R Patel and will be issued from select RBI offices, and some banks.
The new notes will have a motif of Sanchi Stupa on the reverse, depicting the country's cultural heritage. The base colour of the note will be bright yellow.
The note also comprises other designs and geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both at the obverse and reverse.
