Modi should declare BJP's CM face: Sachin Pilot

Last Updated 23 August 2017, 11:26 IST
Ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in Rajasthan, Congress leader Sachin Pilot has demanded that PM should declare BJP's chief ministerial candidate for Rajasthan for the assembly elections slated in December 2018.

Pilot said, "Amit Shah disclosed chief ministerial candidates in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka but did not do so during his recent visit to Rajasthan. So now PM should disclose the name during his Udaipur visit".

Sachin Pilot demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should announce loan waivers for Rajasthan farmers during his visit to the state next week. While lashing out at Vasundhara Raje government for negligence towards farmers, Sachin Pilot said, "Several states have announced crop loan waiver, but no such initiative has been taken in the BJP-ruled state. There cannot be double standards for farmers.

He also claimed that nearly 60 farmers have committed suicide in the state last year, while 16 farmers took the extreme step this year. Stating BJP as "anti farmer" Pilot said, "In more than three years of rule in the state, the government has not given any bonus on the crops. Congress will hold rallies on farmers’ issues across the state from next month."

Rajasthan Congress leader also alleged government of allotting land to “BJP in 28 districts in the state without making its notification public. "This is an unethical practice as the government allotted real estate at prime locations to the BJP silently, which is the violation of a high court ruling. They should have made notification public and given a chance to other parties to apply in case they need land for their offices".
