Justice Ajit Gunjal had quashed the separate petitions filed by Geetha Bai, a power lifter from Ullala in Mangalore and another sports person D K Keerthi of Naraganahalli in Davanagere district who were aggrieved for not getting the award.
The duo had questioned the selection of Nayana Sriyan from Ullala and N B Jyothi from Kundapura for the award.
The petitioners contended that they were quite capable in all the aspects to get the award but they were denied the award. Geetha had questioned the selection in 2007-08 whereas Keerthi questioned the award given in 2008-09.
