Abducted doctor found murdered

Dr Sharath, a native of Udupi, had a clinic in Geddalahalli on Sanjaynagar Main Road. The police suspect that he may have been murdered for gain. On Friday around 1130 am, the doctor had accompanied a person, who had claimed that his relative was in a serious condition and needed medical attention.

After some time, he had called up his acquaintance, who owns a jewellery shop in the same area, and requested him to send ornaments worth Rs 11 lakh to his clinic. A few minutes later, he called up his staff in the clinic and asked them to hand over the jewellery. An unidentified person, looking like an executive, had collected the jewellery and left. Around 1.30 pm, the doctor had called his staff and asked them to send back the patients as he would be returning late.

When he did not return even at night, doctor's family members grew suspicious and filed a complaint with the police. Based on the cellphone records, the police established geographical location from where the doctor had made the calls and alerted Kunigal police, said the police. 

On Saturday afternoon, the Kunigal police informed their Sanjaynagar counterparts about an unidentified body found near Amruthur. The Sanjaynagar police identified the body.

Two die in mishap

Two persons were killed on the spot  while two others sustained minor injuries in a road accident at Lakshmipura cross on Hesaraghatta Road on Friday.

The dead were identified as Manohar (25) and Afridi (6), while the injured are Velliyamma (45) and Amzan (29), all from Singapore Layout. The accident occurred when Mano-
har, his mother Velliyamma, neighbour Amzan and her son Afridi were returning home on a bike after visiting a dargah.  Manohar lost control and rammed against a tree, said the police.

Murder case solved

The Mahalakshmi Layout police have solved a murder case by arresting six persons. The arrested -  Sridhar, Vinay Kumar, Anand, Lingaraj, Jagadish and Shekhar - allegedly murdered Shivaraj (24) due to an old rivalry. Shivaraj was involved in murder attempt and other cases. Search is on to arrest other accomplices, police said.

Shirastedar arrested

The Lokayukta police arrested  Huchchappa C, a Shirastedar Kanakapura taluk office on the   charge of causing loss to the State exchequer to the tune of Rs two crore, by allotting three acres and 15 guntas of land to two persons. Recently, the police raided the house of Krishne Gowda, a village accountant at Bangalore South taluk and recovered certain land ownership documents.

An examination of the records revealed that Huchchappa and Gowda allotted three acres and 15 gunta of  Bagar Hukum cultivation land in survey number 67 at Chinnakurchi village, Kengeri hobli, Bangalore South taluk, to Gowda’s wife Usha and sister Tejaswini. The Lokayukta police arrested Huchachappa based on a complaint filed by Bangalore South Tahsildar Manjunath C.
