Speaking to Deccan Herald after launching several development projects in the taluk on Monday, he said the party has witnessed victory in all the elections held in the past two years, hence victory is sure for it in the GP elections too.

On Bhadra Upper Canal Project, he said the route of the canal would be changed. The project will be implemented only after discussing the issue with the farmers after considering the Desai Report.  “Protecting the interests of Tarikere farmers is as important as giving water to Chitradurga,” he said.

Answering a query he said he is aware that there is no mention of the coffee special package in the budget though the Finance ministry has announced the package. However all efforts will be made to implement the package by looking into all other possibilities, he assured.

The money required for Chikmagalur-Kadur railway route, i.e., Rs 80 crore is ready, but some issues need to be discussed with MLAs, divisional railways managers and South-Western Railways chief engineer. Once the process is over, the process will be commenced, DVS said. MLA D S Suresh, district BJP President M K Pranesh, taluk president Shatharaj and leader N Manjunath were present.
