Applications invited for national award

According to a press release issued by Deputy Director of the Women and Children Welfare department, Children, under the age group of 4 to 15 (i.e., those born after January 1, 1999) who achieve excellence in the above areas are considered for the award.

The national-level award includes a gold medal, Rs 20,000 in cash and a certificate. The award will also include 35 State-level silver medals (one silver medal for each State) and Rs 10,000 cash and a certificate.

Children who have shown remarkable achievements in education, arts, cultural activities and sports are eligible to apply for this award.

Achievements of the children should have appeared in the newspapers or it should have been examined by the experts in the fields concerned.

The date-of-birth of the children should have been signed by the gazetted officials during the time of submission of application for the award. The application forms for the award for the year 2009 should be collected from office of the District Deputy Director of the Women and Children Welfare ministry. Two copies of the form has to be filled in English and must be submitted to the concerned officials before June 12.
