Following a summons issued by the CCB police, Geethavishnu, the grandson of former MP, the late D K Audikesavulu, appeared before the investigating officer ACP Venkatesh Prasanna on Thursday morning. The interrogation went on till late in the evening. Geethavishnu was accompanied by his advocate. He was questioned about the accident and the marijuana found in his car.

He was also asked as to where he was before the accident on Wednesday (September 27). He told the investigating officer (IO) that on the night of September 27, he did not go to any resort, but he had invited a few friends, including film actors and industrialists, to Eden Park restaurant owned by his family. After the party, he left for his house at around 1 am on Thursday.

He told the IO that at around 1.30 am, when he was at the Southend Circle, the driver of the Maruti Omni vehicle jumped the signal and he (Geethavishnu) lost control of his car and hit the Omni vehicle, said sources. However, when DH inquired with the Jayanagar traffic police, they said the signal is turned off at 11 pm and switched on at 7 am.

Geethavishnu told the police that the Jayanagar police had interrogated his brother Aadinarayana, actor Pranav Devaraj and his friends, Junaid, Kaisar, Faiser and Shashank, but none of them was with him in the car and they came to the spot after knowing about the accident. He claimed he was not addicted to any drugs and he had no idea how marijuana landed in his car.

He told police that after the accident, passersby rushed to the spot. There was a melee, during which someone must have kept the marijuana in the car, Geethavishnu said. “I have no connection with anyone in the Telugu film world and I am ready for any investigation,’’ Geethavishnu told the IO.

In the evening, Joint Commission of Police (Crime) N Satheesh Kumar and Deputy Commissioner of Police Ramvilas Sepat interrogated him and he repeated that he had nothing to do with the marijuana found in his car. Geethavishnu was directed to appear before them whenever they call him and was allowed to go.
