Senior citizen lies dead in daughter's flat for 40 days in Hyderabad

In a ghastly incident a 75 year old man’s decomposed body was found in his daughter’s flat who was away in United States. The senior citizen is believed to have lied dead in the centrally locked flat for more than 40 days, considering the fact that he stopped answering phone calls exactly 4o days ago. No one in the apartment complex got doubt as the grouchy old man lived alone in his daughter’s flat. His highly putrefied body was found by his wife and daughter the top floor of the apartment, only when they returned from the US three days ago.
 

According to LB Nagar police the incident occurred in Sai Maruti Residency at Rocktown area under their jurisdiction. Station officer K Kashi Reddy said that the police found that there is a dead lizard under the dead man’s feet indicating that he stepped on the lizard while coming out of the bathroom and hit the wall causing severe head injury. “The circumstances indicate that Murty had struggled for help but could not get", Reddy said.
 

Murty’s wife and daughters say that the old man has the habit of not answering the phone when he is angry; hence they waited for few days. As he has become incommunicado for more than a month they flew from USA only to find the old man dead on Tuesday. The family immediately took the body to Murty’s native place Rajahmundry in East Godavari district of AP to conduct last rites.
 

Police have not registered any case as the family has no suspicion over the death.  They also stated that he had health problems related to the age. Lakshminarayana, according to the family members, turned down the repeated requests of his two daughters to move to America to stay with them. His wife went to USA in July for a brief visit.
