Withdrawal of CMC funds lamented

A sum of Rs 5.51 crore was sanctioned to the City Municipality under SFC grants for the year 2008-09. The municipality had even formulated an action plan for utilisation of funds.

An action plan was prepared to utilise Rs 99.30 lakh under 18 pc grants, Rs 1.30 crore for desilting Ammerahalli tank, Rs 5.72 lakh for construction of mini market, Rs 1.55 cr under local body development scheme, Rs 5 lakh for solid waste disposal,  Rs 7 lakh under Integrated Development of Small and Medium Towns plan, Rs 5 lakh for purchase of equipment and to balance the shortfall in 12th Finance Plan funds, Rs 33 lakh to meet shortage of funds for salaries, and Rs 1.11 crore plan to develop all the 35 wards.
With the government withdrawing the grants, the action plan now has become redundant, the councillor has lamented in a  press statement.
