B R Ambedkar birth anniversary to be observed

Speaking at a press meet on Monday, the Samiti state committee member P Keshav said the day would be observed as “Prabuddha Bharat Nirman Sankalpa Diwas” in all district centres with a view to disseminating the messages of the Architect of Indian Constitution.

Shashikanth Mani Swamiji of Kanyana will inaugurate the day at 10.30 am. SC/ST Study and Welfare Committee President Mohanangaiah Swamy will preside. Bokkapatna Government PU College lecturer Vasudev Belle will deliver a key note address.

KSRTC city service

Keshav said the DSS would be submitting a memorandum to the Regional Transport Authority demanding the introduction of KSRTC city buses in Mangalore.

Expressing happiness over the commencement of volvo bus service between Manipal, Mangalore and Kasargod, he said more number of such buses should be introduced in the coming days.

The DSS will also demand Volvo service on State Bank-Moodabidre-Karkala route, he said.
DSS office-bearers Anand Haleyangady, Veerappa Kotian, K Madhav Urvastore and Santhosh Kumar were present at the press meet.
