The Centre’s grant for 2008-09 was more than the grants released for the last year, said the State government’s special representative in New Delhi V Dhananjay Kumar on Tuesday.
He told press persons that under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme the State received Rs 2,401 crore, which is 10 times more than the previous year. For flood relief works the Centre released Rs 1,646 crore towards the State. The State would expect Rs 25,000 crore from the Centre in the next financial year.
