<p>The high court on Wednesday directed the BBMP to get the approval of the BBMP council on ward committee members before the next hearing.<br /><br />A division bench comprising Justice B S Patil and Justice B V Nagarathna, hearing a batch of petitions with regard to solid waste management, also directed BBMP to complete the verification of pourakarmikas in a month’s time.<br /><br />The bench also sought a report on the status of the bio-mining work being carried out at Mavallipura landfill. The bench directed BBMP to complete these requirements by the next hearing on November 10.<br /><br />Kathayayini Chamaraj of Civic Bangalore submitted detailed objections to the ward committee members being appointed. The report found a violation in the appointment of 29 ward committee members from many wards.<br /><br />The violations include appointing family members, non-residents of wards, omitting resident welfare association representatives. Of the 500 applications sent to BBMP for ward committee members, all were rejected without any reasons.</p>
