<p>Acting Chief Justice H G Ramesh has recused from hearing a PIL filed against Ramachandrapura Mutt seer Raghaveshwara Bharthi.<br /><br />Justice H G Ramesh has stated that senior counsel B V Acharya, who has appeared for the seer, is his senior and he has practised under him.<br /><br />A public interest litigation has been filed by Edurkala Ishwara Bhat and others seeking directions to regulate the mutt and other mutts in the state by passing a regulatory statute by the sate legislature. <br /><br />The petitioners have contended that the seer has transgressed and violated all norms prescribed by the scriptures and is an accused in several matters.<br /><br />They have sought directions to appoint a committee to suggest the successor to the Mutt and to manage the administration of the mutt.</p>
