Cops trace missing teen using FB

The district police have traced a missing teenager who was found at Dava Bazar in Mumbai using Facebook .

According to police, Kiran (13) when he went missing in order to earn his own income and settle in Mumbai. He reportedly was not inclined in studying for long. 

Kiran is the adopted son of Sridhar K Ameen, a resident of Hudco colony at Ananthnagar in Manipal. He was at play at MIT grounds on January 20, 2015 evening and never returned home. His parents had lodged a missing compliant at Manipal police station.

As the teenager was active on Facebook, the police team led by DCP and Anti Human trafficking Cell officer Rathnakumar were able to trace him with the help of Cyber Crime department, Bengaluru.

Kiran was handed over to his parents. In his statement, Kiran said that as he was disinterested in continuing studies, he ran away from home. He worked in hotel in Mumbai to make a living. He was not kidnapped, and the decision to run away from home was his own.
