In both the cases, there were no suicide notes, the police said. In the first incident, 33-year-old Netravathi was found hanging at her house in Muneshwaranagara near Jnanabharathi.

The incident came to light on Friday morning when her husband Muniswamy, a contract employee with the Defence ministry, found her hanging, the police said.

According to the police, the couple was married for nine years and had a six-year old daughter. They often quarrelled over financial issues.

Based on the complaint by the victim's parents, Jnanabharathi police booked Muniswamy both for abetment of his wife's suicide and also dowry harassment. Nethravathi's body was handed over to her parents after the postmortem in Victoria Hospital on Friday.

Anusha, on Thursday night, quarrelled with her husband over the issue of visiting her parents' house. In the morning, when the baby started crying uncontrollably, Shiva Kumar went to check and found his wife hanging. The Yelahanka police have taken up a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
