After Aa Dinagalu, Birugaali and Suryakanthi, actor Chetan hasn’t really been lying low. He’s bang on the job. The reverses suffered at the box office haven’t left the actor sullen. He has been busy listening to multiple scripts and has finally zeroed in on one.

Chetan has always been choosy about the films and the character. He makes sure he immerses himself in every aspect of film-making, whether playing out a character or the creative process. “For the past several months, I've been fortunate to have heard multiple scripts with varying role demands,” Chetan told Metrolife.

He says he’s been looking for a theme that’s different from his previous films. “An enthusiastic, teamwork-centred group with the interest and capacity to come out with a strong final product. That’s what I am looking for,” he reasons. And finally an interesting role not only on-screen but off-screen as well where he could be involved in the entire creative process. “About three months ago, I was approached by an aspiring film-maker with strong technical credentials, sound production capabilities, and a sensible storyline,” Chetan reveals excitedly and adds, “the director and his entire team have given me full freedom to immerse myself and complete the film's screenplay, a process that he and I have spent the past two-and-a-half to three months finishing.”

The movie is underway and Chetan says he’s thrilled that “the scene-to-scene flow, overall characterisations, and the screenplay as a whole have shaped up in a manner better than what I have expected.”

Chetan further explains that although the film is fundamentally a love story, he is excited to be working on a project that deals with a theme never-before explored in Kannada film Industry in this manner. “They will start shooting by the end of April. Locations for the film, as required by the screenplay, are picturesque regions of Karnataka as well as urban regions,” says Chetan, who is packing up to leave for a whole new adventure.
