A senior police official was shunted out and given an insignificant posting allegedly after he exposed corruption in Uttar Pradesh police department and sought action against corrupt officials.
According to the sources, Jasveer Singh, additional director general (ADG), home guards, was transferred to the rules and manual department as ADG after he shot off a series of letters to DG, home guards Surya Kumar Shukla pointing out corrupt practices in the department and seeking action.
Singh said in his letters that corruption was rampant in the home guards department and that government vehicles were being used by senior officials for personal works.
He also said that the officials were not providing him information in a bid to hide their corrupt deeds and that despite his pleadings no action had been taken against them.
Shukla has ordered an inquiry into the charges leveled by Singh.
