<p class="title">A senior police official was shunted out and given an insignificant posting allegedly after he exposed corruption in Uttar Pradesh police department and sought action against corrupt officials.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the sources, Jasveer Singh, additional director general (ADG), home guards, was transferred to the rules and manual department as ADG after he shot off a series of letters to DG, home guards Surya Kumar Shukla pointing out corrupt practices in the department and seeking action.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Singh said in his letters that corruption was rampant in the home guards department and that government vehicles were being used by senior officials for personal works. </p>.<p class="bodytext">He also said that the officials were not providing him information in a bid to hide their corrupt deeds and that despite his pleadings no action had been taken against them.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Shukla has ordered an inquiry into the charges leveled by Singh.</p>
