This school celebrates Rajyotsava month-long

While the whole State celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, the Bapuji CBSE School here in Davangere celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava all through the month of November. The school has been celebrating month-long Rajyotsava for the last 20 years.

Discussions on Kannada land, language, art, culture and traditions and growth of Kannada are held everyday in the month of November.

Discussions are held on great personalities who worked for Kannada land and its language, on Kannada litterateurs and their works, various movements in Karnataka, on Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP) and how it grew, the rivers of the State, its natural resources, various crops grown in different districts and many other topics. During assembly time, teachers and students speak on various topics.

For the last 20 years, school director K Imam has been organising Kannadamma Kannada exams each year for the students of this school as well as for other schools run by the institution. Attractive prizes are distributed to those who score well.

Kannada lovers and principals of various schools the district and other districts avail the question paper free of cost and organise the Kannada exams in their schools too successfully. The school has followed the tradition of sending a copy of the question paper to State Kannada Sahitya Parishat president and every district unit president too.

Mr Imam wishes to re-publish the book 'Kannada, Kannadiga, Karnataka' which was first published in 1972, so that all Kannadigas can read it. He has brought this matter to the notice of Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Manu Baligar too.

Mr Imam, served as a maths teacher and principal of CBSE School and is now serving as the director of the school.
